PRT Benefits for Families

Lower Transportation Expenses

An effective transit system is an affordable alternative to reliance upon the automobile. Take the PRT system to work or school and leave the large (and expensive) family vehicle for when it is needed by the entire family.

PRT tickets will be bought per vehicle, not per-person, so one adult with two children pay the same fare as the adult traveling alone.

Transportation costs for PRT are not affected by the rise and fall of gasoline prices.

Convenient and Accessible

The network of small, inexpensive guideways and stations allows service in lower density areas, not just the downtown corridors. PRT is more likely to be built where your family needs it. 24-hour, on-demand operation lets the system adjust to YOUR schedule, rather than forcing you to adjust to it's schedule.

Three-person vehicles allow non-stop service to the destination with room for three adults, one adult and several children, or one adult and a bike or luggage or packages.

Safer for Neighborhoods

Elevated PRT guideways remove the possibility of striking pedestrians, children, or pets when installed near neighborhoods. The small, electrically powered vehicle will be far more quiet than automobile or train traffic.

Mobility for Young and Old

The computer driven PRT system gives teenagers, the elderly, and the disabled a transportation option that doesn't require another person to drive or require them to own an automobile.

Safer Public Transport

Non-stop travel from start to destination doesn't allow anyone to board a family member's vehicle. Very short or zero waiting times at PRT stations allow little opportunity for crime. Less expensive guideway and station construction will allow more stops, and thus shorter walks to the stations, than alternative fixed-guideway systems.
